Figurine of the Hindu goddess Lakshmi on a lotus flower, in porcelain with various colours, with numerous handmade decorative details and gold lustre.
Seated on a lotus flower, the symbol of purity, the goddess Lakshmi conveys deep spiritual symbolism through the serene beauty of her face. This deity spilled gold coins over her worshippers to bless them with her wealth. Here she has been represented as such, with the sumptuousness required by the goddess of fortune and prosperity, one of the most beloved in Hindu homes. On a decorative level, the use of different techniques stands out, such as the gold lustre of the numerous golden parts or the velvet finish of the sash and cushion where the coins lay. The jewels, the rich clothing, the wreath of flowers and lotus buds complete the sculpture. The stud in her nose, with which the goddess is usually depicted, is adorned with a diamond. This limited edition is part of the High Porcelain collection, the highest artistic category of the brand.

The story goes that Saraswati was so beautiful that her husband Brahma had four heads so that he could see her from any direction. Lladró artists, absolute masters in the control of porcelain, have captured her beauty with the excellence, precision and refinement called for by all Hindu gods.
“Saraswati symbolizes learning, truth, education, culture and the arts. She tells us that knowledge is the path towards freedom. This message is further reinforced by her iconography. The four arms represent the states of the mind, while the objects she is carrying in her hands—the necklace of beads, the book and the instrument—speak of the power of meditation, learning and music. Dressed in a white sari, a symbol of her purity, she is ornamented in soft red, brown and blue tones. Covered with a subtle layer of varnish, this spectrum of colors lends the piece a sense of serenity and magnetism. The symbolism and the profound spirituality of this goddess are perfectly rendered in this new creation, crafted entirely by hand in the Lladro workshops. “

Believed to be one of the most powerful goddesses and one of the most venerated by Hindus, Goddess Durga now arrives from the Lladró workshops for the first time in a majestic limited edition, which bears the stamp of excellence like all the great High Porcelain creations.
Portraying Durga, the goddess who alleviates the suffering of all people on Earth, who protects the righteous and establishes benevolence and order, was both a challenge and an honor for Lladró artists. Made in a combination of glazed and matte porcelain, Durga is depicted sitting on the back of a spectacular tiger with striking blue eyes, symbolizing the goddess’s will and determination. The eight arms with which she is portrayed, each one holding a symbol of the different powers given to her by the gods, seem to have a movement of their own, while the goddess’s body and face convey a sense of peace and compassion. The composition is decorated with the signature deep red color of Hindu iconography and a spectrum of colors that includes faded browns, turquoises and mauves. These tonalities are enhanced by the use of carefully applied golden luster and a garland of flowers made up of 280 white and 7 pink petals, in addition to the delicate lotus flower she is holding in one of her hands. All these flowers are handmade, petal by petal. A work of exceptional beauty at par with the all-powerful mighty Durga
