One of the best known gods from Olympus, made in white matte porcelain with touches of golden luster.

Hermes was cunning and clever and had the gift of oratory, which is why the gods chose him to be their herald, as he was able to convey their message with eloquence and charm. This god from Mount Olympus is usually depicted with wings on his heels because he has to travel quickly to deliver Zeus’s orders wherever he was called. In this new edition, the wings are decorated with golden luster. Hermes is the latest addition to the Myths Collection and, like the rest of the pieces, it is made in matte white porcelain to enhance the realism, the wealth of details and the sculptural work in the execution.

The story goes that Saraswati was so beautiful that her husband Brahma had four heads so that he could see her from any direction. Lladró artists, absolute masters in the control of porcelain, have captured her beauty with the excellence, precision and refinement called for by all Hindu gods.

“Saraswati symbolizes learning, truth, education, culture and the arts. She tells us that knowledge is the path towards freedom. This message is further reinforced by her iconography. The four arms represent the states of the mind, while the objects she is carrying in her hands—the necklace of beads, the book and the instrument—speak of the power of meditation, learning and music. Dressed in a white sari, a symbol of her purity, she is ornamented in soft red, brown and blue tones. Covered with a subtle layer of varnish, this spectrum of colors lends the piece a sense of serenity and magnetism. The symbolism and the profound spirituality of this goddess are perfectly rendered in this new creation, crafted entirely by hand in the Lladro workshops. “

Believed to be one of the most powerful goddesses and one of the most venerated by Hindus, Goddess Durga now arrives from the Lladró workshops for the first time in a majestic limited edition, which bears the stamp of excellence like all the great High Porcelain creations.

Portraying Durga, the goddess who alleviates the suffering of all people on Earth, who protects the righteous and establishes benevolence and order, was both a challenge and an honor for Lladró artists. Made in a combination of glazed and matte porcelain, Durga is depicted sitting on the back of a spectacular tiger with striking blue eyes, symbolizing the goddess’s will and determination. The eight arms with which she is portrayed, each one holding a symbol of the different powers given to her by the gods, seem to have a movement of their own, while the goddess’s body and face convey a sense of peace and compassion. The composition is decorated with the signature deep red color of Hindu iconography and a spectrum of colors that includes faded browns, turquoises and mauves. These tonalities are enhanced by the use of carefully applied golden luster and a garland of flowers made up of 280 white and 7 pink petals, in addition to the delicate lotus flower she is holding in one of her hands. All these flowers are handmade, petal by petal. A work of exceptional beauty at par with the all-powerful mighty Durga
